My Leon FR (mk1) is going in for a service tomorrow, 60k apparently (on 57k). The cambelt was, I am assured by Seat, done at 40k, so what else should be done?

If anyone's interested, it's being done at Total VAG in Leighton Buzzard and they will become my regulars if I am pleased with the service. They are charging me £209 plus VAT (I have asked for the brake fluid to be changed, too).

Should be listed in the handbook, but rumour has it that it's an oil and filter, pollen filter and brake fluid. Someone quoted a dealer price list a few days ago and the 60k service was £143.51 inc. vat, without the brake fluid change. Makes yours sound a bit expensive at that rate.

some may say lala land....
i don't recall paying that much for my 40k either, and as noted, they don't do a lot at it.
60k is also cambelt & tensioner + worth doing the water pump at same time.
only way to know it was done before is service book & receipt telling you so. If not, may be worth getting it done at same time.

brake fluid at a stealer is only about 52 +vat. pollen filter is about max a tenner and 10min job you can do to save a few quid

Interesting read, sounds like I am being well overcharged then.

I will see what they charge me when I collect the car this evening.

Specifically they are:

Doing a 60k service
Changing the brake fluid (last changed at 40k)
Doing a health check and a report on bits that may need replacing under my nearly finished Seat warranty

Progressive Parts, performance parts and tuning specialists
