Im considering debadging my leon fr tdi, by that i mean just taking off the "LEON" letters on the boot and leaving just the "FR" badge. Has anyone done this that could show me pics of it done to give me an idea of what it looks like?

Thanks

I have also been toying with this idea...can't decide!

Is it relatively easy to do? The old Hairdryer ploy?

I'm considering debadging mine. One reason it's an OEM+ look. Also, one very big reason. Have you guys tried polishing round and washing out the dirt around the letters, PITA :ban:

it's only those who debadge a bottom of the range model that are ashamed of their car. Those of use that drive FR's and Cupra's have nothing to be ashamed of when we're driving top of the range models.

Look at BMW drivers for example. Those that drive 318i and debadge hoping others won't realize they are driving a 318i. those drivers seem like they are ashamed of driving a bottom of the range bmw. I laugh at them, because i can identify most BMW models from the exhaust pipe. Anyone who is a fan of or into BMWs can tell different engine size from tailpipes. tbh there's no shame in driving a BMW 318i, it's still a BMW which is enough said.

Apart from looking shite its pointless, I have been told because I put a black grille and mirros on my FR I am trying to make it look like a Cupra.... NOT AT ALL IT JUST LOOKS BETTER! If i had a silver Cupra I would change the grille and mirros to the FR ones as they would look better!
WHy bother trying to make your car look like this model or not like that model, just make it look like you want it, if you like debadging then go for it, but like I said when I see a car with no badge I think it looks awful and chavvy!

I also changed my mirrors and grill to black versions but only to match the theme of the car. The FR badge alone is black and red, now so is my car! I haven't copied the Cupra by having the black strip at the bottom as I'm not trying to create a Cupra look.

I couldn't bear the standard grille and love a black mesh with S badge instead

I was tempted to take the Leon letters off the back of mine but with just the FR badge it looks a bit out of place.

Was wondering what it would look like with the FR badge moved to the middle of the boot? Anyone any good at photoshop here? :)

Do you realise how much of a geek you sound? sorry mate but if you can tell different beemers by there exhaust you need to get a life or a lass.

Debadging is all about cleaning up the look of the car and its down to personal taste Ive took mine off and i think it looks much better. I might only have a reference sport but im not ashamed of it its been mapped, tweaked and pushing 200bhp so would leave a standard FR plus its just a run around.

And if your trying to impress a lass which are they going to be most impressed by a Seat or a BMW?? Not trying to make you look bad mate just pointing out the facts :p
