Leon FR Tdi exhaust hanger

hi all,
i was looking forward to go xmas shopping today in my pride and joy after not driving it for a week because i had the works van,while walking up the drive after work, what did i see?............ my backbox sitting on the floor.

After futher inspection,it was the hanger bracket had corroded off the top of the back box.is this normal wear and tear of a seat?the car is on a 2005 with 31k on the clock and mothered every day of its life.the rest of the backbox is mint nick and would be a shame to change it.

My options are

1.Get the bracket welded back on(Fear of it never fitting straight again)
2.Get standard replacement
3.Getting information on aftermarket exhaust system(any info would be helpful)

I think you will find this is fairly common, i have read quite a few threads covering this

Iv just had this exact same problem was walking towards my car outside of tesco the other day and i thought the exhaust looks a little low. Thinking getting it welded might be the best plan until i look at after market sometime next year.

same here went out from work thought wtf , had mine welded , a month or so later wnt for miltec decat full system from awsome gti

search tdi exhausts or something similar loads of info ,

and yes a decat will pass an mot on a Diesel
