Leon FR

Im thinking of getting a Mk1 Leon FR, would get a Cupra but for some reason my insurance company wont insure me on that, but will an FR.

Anyone got any advice or comments to pass on about it?

Strange, the Cupra was rebadged to an FR so basically it's the same car only newer

Indeed, stupid insurance companies!

Its all a bit annoying as FRs are quite a bit more expensive than Cupras as they are alot newer.

So looks like im going to need to scrape together some more cash before i can get one

this sounds very odd,
my insurance company quoted me more for an FR than a Cupra (TDi)
and Ibiza Cupra costs **** loads more to insure than a Leon

What can i say, my insurance company is Irish haha!

There arent many FRs about which is another problem, a few on Autrotrader at the moment but not got £12k yet.

Do people think they are worth the money? And worth me saving up a bit more over the next few months?

Odd.
Not many companies would insure my old Mazda MX-3, as it was considered not secure enough. But I saved 25% (£100) on insurance trading it in for a Leon FR. In spite of declaring more driving convictions and much higher annual mileage. It seems to me the magic word 'Diesel' may have had an influence.
