And would shell helix ultra meet this? Surely it should as it is one of the best oils around?

Otherwise what would you recommend and where the best place to get it from??

Thanks

Please dont shoot me for asking (and i have looked up and down the forum)
My question is this
I am running a 110bhp (although some sources say 108) TDI SE imported from NL
somewhere in the V5 it quotes ASV (so i am presuming the engine is an ASV unt? and not a PD engine?
what i would like to know is this please

are the lubricants listed on page 1 correct?

Leon 1.9TDI 2000-2005. (110HP) (AHF, ASV)

Engine: 507.00.
Gearbox: VW G50 - 75W-90.
Brake/Clutch: DOT 4.
Steering: VW G 002 000.
Cooling: VW G12 TL 774-D.

and the other is when could i change from Fully Synthetic oil to Semi-Synthetic? the engine has just covered 50,000 miles and is a 52 reg although its an 03 model any help would be appreciated,
p.s. Am i right in thinking the cambelt needs changing at 60,000 miles ?? sorry lots of ? eh?
Thanks In Advance

If the V5 states ASV and it aint had an engine swap then the info on page on is correct.

If you change to a semi-synth from a full synth then you may experience your oil needs topping up more often.

Cambelt change at 60k or 5 years whichever comes 1st. However camblet changes are a bit of a grey area with SEATs, some people say change at 40k.

(but you never know) another silly question if i may what is the difference between a PD unit and any other i presume PD = Pump Duse means I will see a big fuel pump when i take the cover off! lol

I'm trying to work out what oil I need for my 2005 LCR. I've seen that you have specified the following:

Leon 1.8VT Cupra R 2000-2005. (225HP) (AMK, BAM) KO4

Engine: 504.00.

however in my manual (which doesnt explain it very clear) it mentions VW502.00 and VW500.00 for a petrol engine.

any idea why its different?

Cheers

Any oil that specifies vw 504.00 on it which is 5w 30

I use castrol edge in my LCR its good stuff also halfords do there own stuff in a dark blue bottle there are plenty of oils out there to choose from

If you dont know whats in your engine at the moment do a complete oil and filter change using the correct 5w 30 spec oil.

Yes it is rather pricey but worth it. If you have a halfords trade card it helps on price a little bit. You also need 4.5 litres for your car so you need to buy the top up bottle too!! the halfords brand one do it in 5 litre bottles for half the price its up to you what you put in it??
