I've never really seen anyone fit a manual boost controller on here... maybe use an adjustable actuator?
I use a mbc connected in parallel to my n75 valve. It deals with the bigger spikes that the n75 is too slow to deal with. The n75 controls the rest of the boost magement.
Unfortunately, unless you go custom remap you cannot run a mbc on its own because although its smoother than the n75, you will hit limp mode due to high part throttle boost spikes (more than 200mb deviation).
I run a 10psi spring in my Forge Actuator, any lesser strength spring will allow boost creep when flowing higher boost. I recently tried my stock actuator on my hybrid, it didn't even achieve stock k04boost levels since the compressor and turbine arrangement is different to a stock k04 turbo.
I know you didn't like the Forge actuator setup before but you really should reconsider it because your loosing out on some great performance. When fitting your actuator (yellow spring) dont over tighten the rod when bolting up the wastegate as this is putting too much preload on the WG and increasing the operating psi.
You Run REVO which is excellent software for a hybrid set up since on its highest boost setting its requests stay within the range of the map sensor which prevents big boost spikes whereas my APR software increases the requested boost past 2550 mb which the map sensor can never achieve and results in over boost whence the reason for me running a mbc. you won't ned to.
I did try to run a mbc to smooth out the boost but i ran it on its own as my N75 was no good, but as Willy said it kept putting the car into lip and throwing the maximum boost limit exceeded fault code so i bought a new N75 and took the mbc off, i know DJP runs the some mbc as i tried without any problems, i am having my stage two soon so might try to run it with the N75 as Willy does.

Ive bitten the bullet and getting my forge actuator put back on, as you right without out my tub is not really doing its best. The only trouble is i sold my k04 one by mistake so only have a k03 one now! Doh! Ive emailed forge to see if there similar or if i need to get a new one.
Also have you a build thread goings as id like to see what other bits you have set up your tub with as i have been out for so long i need to get back in the swing of whats what etc!

Ok ive spoken to John at Forge but he says that they havent made a K04 actuator with bracket? There doing it now and it should be ready in a few weeks so what have you used willy? Did you mod your stock bracket to take the forge actuator? As ive seen a pic of an actuator on the TT shop with bracket for the k04? Im confused as john must know his products
I use the Rspec mbc (ebay) which is cheap, well made and doesn't start cracking open until the desired boost level is reached.
No build thread yet i'm afraid.

however the original bracket they supplied me was a bit square as shown above and needed a little bit of work to make it fit. When i advised of the problem they supplied me with the correct bracket which is round around the circumference which fits perfectly.
