I think it's good to be able to get peoples views both positive and negative.

For example somebody might be thinking about buying a Leon and considering the Aero kit. The oppinions on the kit on this fourm are mixed and to some extent reflects the oppinions of people in general.

That being the case the car with the kit could be difficult to sell but by seeing the negativity on the forum that person now has information to make their choise. If they love the kit they will still buy it but if they are more concerned about selling the car quickly in six months time for the best price and not losing so much money they may opt not to go for it.

The same applies to other extras, the iPod connector isn't great. People now have the information to make the decision as to whether or not its worth them going for it.

EXACTLY what this forum is all about i think! Well said. :)

must end this as ive just had similar thread removed by the forum admin for "goodwill " reasons i guess this will be next just what i was talking about i guess they dont like the truth never mind thanks every one for input leon cp11

That's not correct.

A thread was not removed. A number of posts were removed because they went beyond giving opinions /joking to the stage of making personal remarks about members. (and quoting/commenting on those remarks).

The truth is always here. I have a Mk1 Leon with the factory approved bodykit of its time, fitted by the dealer when it was supplied. Most people hate it. People are entitled to their opinions.

I agree leoncp11 - I had my post removed from (I believe) the same posting for "goodwill" reasons. Frankly I think it's pretty poor... So long as things don't start getting vicious then what's wrong with a little bit of negative opinion? We're going to start getting a little bit nanny soon where whevever anyone asks for an opinion they're going to be flamed for saying anything negative at all... and in that scenario, what the hell's the point of asking an opinion? I'm sure we're all adult enough to be able to take opinion - good or bad? Aren't we?

Opinions should be balanced, and people should not be afraid to state their feelings on any subject. But there is a fine line where it can cross from a simple negative comment to the downright insulting and potentially abusive.

People are free to do what they like to their cars, it's their choice and if their happy with it. Ultimately that's all that counts.

On the flip side people are free to say they don't like something. Just because they might not agree with your point of view it doesn't mean they should be stopped from making it.

There is negative feedback on the shape of the Mk2 full stop, with our without kit but there is also a huge amount of positive feedback too. Doesn't stop it selling, obviously people do like it.

Don't beat yourself up about what other's think, get on with it. State your piece and don't try to tell people how to suck eggs. ;)

Have a read of our rule on flame bait : http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/faq.php?faq=scn_faqrules_item#faq_scn_rules_flame

It's a different subject matter i'll grant you, but the same context can be drawn from it.

You can't tell everyone they are blind fools for their beliefs, and not expect to get something thrown at you. :)
