Leon Mk1 rear tail-gate not locking??

My key fob is opening the tailgate every time but isn't locking it.

I have to manually lock it on exit.

I take it this is a job for a Vag Com?

PS as my rear tailgate doesn't lock, I can open it with alarm activated but all I get is flashing lights but no audible warning??

Nearly all the SEATs I've had have had issues with the solenoid sticking on the locking mechanism, maybe worth having a look at removing the rear plastic cover off the tailgate and regreasing.

Solenoid not sticky (it's not even making any attempt to lock)

I'll get it on a Vag Com to check closure sequence.

It's not even unlocking now. :-(

Power going to solenoid so going to get a new tailgate latch to rule out water damage in the wee electrical plug bit (technical term escapes me).
