Mmmm im tempted by that turbo - is that the same as the K04-1 from Backdraft? ie to fit AUQ K03. Or is it the K04-23? & for a BAM?

That and 4x4, ummmmm! Ill see how this mod goes - then Ill decide wether modding a uk car or modding a euro car is worthwhile.

:D DAMN YOU! giving me ideas! :p

But drifting an LCR is a defo must - and certainly a rare sight to see!

:D Just shy of £5k!! May have to make a lil road trip - the Polish are comming over and stealing Brits jobs - lets go steal all of their 4x4 Cupras! HAHA!! :D
Ok, im gona research the effort needed to pop the wheel on the other side on leons! This would defo be worthy of the big garret upgrade rather than my poxy FWD cupra ;)

Hi there!

Nice idea you've got there!
I saw the thread earlier, but forgot about it..
I will be looking forward for progress in this one! :)

Also I've got a little tip/question for you;

Have you thought about the "haldex lag"? <-- didnt find any better word, sorry.
As standard the Haldex allows the front wheels to spin one quarter of an round before engaging the rear. This is not (allways) wanted!
Hence, I thought of making a simple switch with three settings.
If it is built up the way I think, its all coming down to locating the the one wire wich "tells" the haldex to engage.

FWD\ Grounded, as in never engage. For those old tyres.
AUTO _ HALDEX Standard ABS-sensor. Auto setting
AWD/ +12V, Allways engage. +12V or whatever it needs. Used for getting sideways!
:funk:

I don't know if this have been done before, or if it will cause problems with CANBUS, or something along those lines. Really hoping it may be done relatively easy.

Just my 2 cents.

Ps: mine have got both 4wd and a sunroof. Imported as new from Holland I think.

Right boys - lets go to Holland!! haha im over Amsterdam next month, perhaps ill have a sneeky peek!

Yes in theory you can switch as "most" 4x4 cars send 60-70% power to the rear, thus allowing the fronts to slip a little bit. Would be amazing to control how much is sent where - ie in the snow go all front, and for fun all to the rear!

:D DAMN IT! More ideas! haha

God I really want one.

currently got a 1.6 Leon
come February thinking LCR 210
then year after get and import with 4wd and a sunroof :)

gives me 6 months to sort out the LCR from now then another year to sort out importing the next one :)

am i right in think there are not 4wd cupra r's? they all seem like straight cupras (as in bumper designs)

if i got an imported 4wd leon would love it to have brembos all round and the LCR kit :)

you cant go all to the rear.,, the front is always ON, the rear is the one that is on or off. for full rear wheel drive you need to take off the front axle shaft, and then mount only the part of the axle in the wheelbearing (dont know the name of this part), and make the haldex 100% on for the rear all the time,, then you have rearwheel drive.

Well, in this case its a 50/50 distribution. Its hard to get more to the rear with our engines beeing lined up the "wrong" way.
I think one can adjust the timing and what not with an "haldex controller" but I wasnt looking into spending $1000 on something that just dont do what i want!

The AWD setting would also become most useful in the slippiestuphills etc..

I have seen people going for full time awd - the mechanical way. But im just not into that excessive tyre wear and consuption.

Yer I didnt think it was possible to have more than 70% to the rears, but just saying it would be cool if you could opperate it all with a switch! Im sure theres the technology somewhere to be manipulated into doing this ;)
itfben - sounds expensive few yrs! lol!!! I was planning on getting an LCR for track treatment next summer, perhaps an import is better!!! & im not sure about and LCR 4x4's..................... If not, then big garrett and custom body kit me thinks!

shopping in Holland is a lot of fun but explains why we don't see a lot of them over here

NL = 2001 Cupra4 V6 130k miles £6000 + import/registration costs

UK = 2001 Golf V6 4motion 100k miles £2000

healthy saving for losing some bling pedals and a few leather shoulders i guess plus steering on correct side with the Golf of course

one day though i'd love too
