Leon Rear Door Lock

Hi All,

Sorry if this is a repetitive question.

Rear door was faulty and mechanic replaced the lock. Recently notice the door was not opening from the outside, but is from the inside.

I stripped it down today so could see the release latch had come free.

Wondering has anyone got a pic of where it connects to on the lock?

I did try to fish it back on with the lock loosened but no luck. I would rather not have to take the glass out, is this possible?

Recently notice the door was not opening from the outside, but is from the inside.

Have you got this the right way round? The disconnected rod in the pic is for the inside handle which you said is working. If the door won't open from the outside you need to look at the short cable that runs from the handle to the lock. You can access this by taking off the plate behind the handle.

Thank you for the reply, I don't think I have them mixed up as the highlighted cable connects to the interior door handle.

All that rod does is connect to the white cross with the weight on to connect to the door pins you don't have.

You need to loosen the bolt above the lock on the edge of the door to allow the blank where the keyhole would be to pull out. There should be a bit clipped in the end of the door handle.

Make sure you reseal your inner door seal or your gonna get water in the footwell of your car
