I have seat ones, on in 1 minute a corner, same to take off. Can't fault them, good soft rubber feet to protect roof.
Just make a point of not leaving them on when not in use. Adds drag! haha
Do ruin the lines of the car. A mate didn't notice my car parked up with them on!!

Another vote for the SEAT bars from me. I have them for my LCR. One of the best features for me is that they are aero bars and accept the Thule 'T' track system. This means you can just slide accessories on and off, for me that is a bike carrier.

Any chance of a photo of yours? doesn't need to be on the car, not sure mine have track system capacity.

No problem, the bars are still on the car from last weekend. With fuel being the price it is I should get them off tbh.

With the end plate off. You can see the 'T' track (should be called an inverted 'T' I guess?)

Apologies for dragging up an old topic but I also had a red clip type thing that came with mine and I have no idea where it goes (no instructions either).

Elastic tangent - your last photo almost goes down far enough to where I think the clip should go but not sure - help!

There should be a red clip on each end (four in total). The screw goes through it and into the roof. You hand tighten the screw and then move the red clip from right to left to make it really tight.

I can take some pics tomorrow if none of this makes sense.

leon roof bars

Hi, I used to have a nov 02 leon cupra, the only bars i found OK were the genuine Seat ones, unlike cheap copies they did not scratch the roof as they used the fixings in the roof rails. I tried a cheaper 3rd party set before these which had to be clamped between the doors and roof - almost impossible because of the seal. I sent those back. The Seat ones are also lockable. The only slight issue is that if you leave them on without anything attached they are a bit noisy, i did not find them too noisy with a bike rack on. The bad news is the hideous cost, the good news is i still have them in my garage if you want to make me a bid (i'm not greedy!). 01422-845808 Cheers.

Can anyone confirm that the roof rack fixing points are the same on a Mk.2 Toledo (99-04) as a Mk.1 Leon (09-04)?
Had a look at the ones on the Mrs Leon and its just a threaded hole.

I'm going to resurrect this 4 year old thread.

Got a question about the genuine roof bars, what kind of bike rack do they take? Is it just the T-track kind or can you put on the attachment that wraps round the bar?
