April 2012 - an introduction,
Well how shall I start? Between May 2010 April 2012 I was driving a 2002 1.6 Focus, and it was a great car. Despite it being high mileage (110k when I got it, sold it on 135k), it was a fantastic car and never let me down. However, I was offered this Leon at a great price and I couldn't turn it down. It's a very late 2002 Leon S 1.6 (BCB engine) and the car when purchased was totally standard (apart from a crappy Kenwood CD player that was present). It has 3 previous owners and the last being my step father, who I purchased it from back in April for £1500 (he had owned the car for roughly a year and paid £2700 for it back then
). It has some service history and when I acquired the car it was on 71K, since then and as of writing this post the car is now on 77K. I will detail all the work I have had done in the car with new posts as I go along.
These were taken about 2 weeks after acquiring the car:

This time I decided that it must be the thermostat, so I ordered a new one from the vwspares website and fitted it the following weekend (complete with the same palava of completely emptying the coolant again!) - after a 5 mile round trip drive and let the engine warm up, still no working temperature gauge aahhh!!
). Anyway, I finally recieved all the parts today! And after much excitement and eagerly waiting, I finally got them fitted this afternoon at my uncles
