mines on a PDA which always goes with me, but i do see people leaving the cradle in the window, and always makes me think if they left the unit in the car too.

That box looks good, but no doubt they will just bring a nice big pair of bolt clippers to cut the wire with.

im goin to get blankin plate an wat fuse do u take out to stop the key from opein the doors or cant u

There is no fuse for that alone AFAIK.

You may be confused with the fuse relocation for the whole central locking? as you will know the fuses are in the panel on the side of the dash and not accessable with the doors shut......IF (and it's a remote chance) the central locking fuse blew and you have no mechanical lock to open then there is the problem of just how you would get to the fuse (if the doors are deadlocked)???.....one option is to relocate this fuse.

Pabs on this forum has his own web site with a fiting guide etc......

The other tip is to take the door panel off and wrap the wires near the door lock in insulation tape.......I won't explain why you would do this otherwise we may as well turn this thread into a 'How to' guide for every theiving Chav in the world ;)....again this measure is probably more than is absolutely necessary but up to you.

If any moderators think I have gone too far with my details above please feel free to edit.

It is recommended that you remove the cradle and hide that away too.

This is true but I find that the suction mount is a real pain to get to stick back to the windscreen in the morning. I need to hold my TomTom mount for about 10 minutes to get it to stick. Anyone else have this problem?

Better than having your car screwed I suppose.

Velcro is your friend.

Now you see it

Now you don't

Sticky backed velcro on the top of the dash and under the TomTom. Cable runs up the side of the dash. No mounts or suction marks left on the windscreen and I sometimes cover the velcro up with Bagpuss (Sorry no pictures of Bagpuss i'm affraid)

This won't work with a TomTom one as it's too tall and thin. IIRC.

Woolworths and Big W used to sell the sticky backed velcro, that was a while back though.

Any Haberdashery (sp?) or craft shop should sell it too

Got mine from RS. A 5cm x 1metre roll.

Comes in handy for allsorts of things. My oil top up bottle is now velcroed to the side of the boot:D

You dont live in Birmingham do you?

One of the lads at our place got his stolen from the Van,it was parked on a main road aswell.

It was during the night.

Why don;t we do a full post full of ideas on this public forum entitled 'A CHAV's GUIDE - HOW TO BREAK INTO OUR SEAT's' personally I think you forgot one key element but I could add that later and perhaps you could do colour photo's too

If anyone else thinks that it's a good idea to give out the details, think again.

banning will be the least of your problems.

what a knob!

yeah basically lads that is what i'm gonna do, i have ordered the blank and it should of been here today (ill go tomorrow) cost's a few quid . only wish i thought on before hand . i now remeber why every car i have had has always been de-locked. at least withe the leon it's quite staright forward and yo dont have to use filler and paint large amounts of ya car(which majority of the time aint the right colour lol)

at the end of the day i do relise that if "they want it they will get it" but any sort of deterent is good! i just didnt relise a top of the range modern car was so easy to break into!

Sorry to hear about your sat-nav. Unfortunately it is a growing crime now. Advice to all sat-nav users is to not leave anything in your car associated with the sat-nav. sometimes it is not enough to remove the unit and the cradle. The little ars*hol*es will spot the mark the suction cup leaves on the front window and will break into your car just to see if youve left anything.

And dont think you can hide the unit in the car. Some of
the new sat-navs are bluetooth enabled and all the thieving gippos need is a bluetooth phone and use the bluetooth search function on the phone and then they can see if a sat-nav is in the vicinity.

sticky velcro available in DIY shops like Focus - made by 3M

Does anyone know if these security 'issues' have been dealt with in 05 reg Leons?

no need to get mardy! only wanted to tell you what happens if you try and prevent key lock attacks! no need to stress! its only advice take it or leave it!

You printed a 'how to' break into Seat guide on a public forum.....probably not intentional but these thieving Chav's need no extra help.

With a little searching you would have also found out that you are the latest victim not the only ever victim.
