@Delanor , so I bought car new in Feb 2024 all was good when suddenly infotainment froze on me several times.
On 1st or second
service can't remember, I told
dealership while handing the car that it freezes and I am locked out no navigation etc.
While handing back they said they have updated the software.
Since then I am getting regular OTA and less infotainment freezes maybe once a year. Previously it was quite frequent. Hence found that work around of soft reset while holding the power button. I can't go back and forth to dealerships it costs time and money to me leaving work finding time. And yes it has moved to 1989 checked last night. While I was on 1988 approx 6 months ago it froze once. So still better than before.
I don`t buy new cars anymore, I bought a new Toyta RAV4 once allegedly then the most reliable car, on the first day in spite of the
dealers PDI I discovered at 70 mph on the wet freshy gritted and salted M6 the washers didn`t work, that was fun, then the windscreen started to rattle in the cold temperatures the
dealer changed the windscreen but didn`t check the rattle had been fixed outside in the cold it hadn`t, then the clutch dual mass flywheel started to eat its way out of the clutch housing, the
dealer was useless, I have owned 4 RX-8`s 3 were new and had all sorts of problems I had to reject one of them the
dealers again were useless, so I tend to buy 6 -12 months old now the theory being any faults should have been sorted by then which appears to work OK although I did buy a Skoda Karoq a demonstrator that was brilliant, again the first
Formentor another demonstrator that was OK now my current
Formentor has extras of random self switching interior lighting, the lovely "Panoramic Sunroof" doesn`t like to close when the Sun goes in and it starts to rain, the engine warning light illuminated allegedly caused by the
dealer, now the Radio is fussy possibly due to a dislike of my selection of radio station and I have not been impressed with the
dealers after they couldn`t manage to
service it with the recommended engine oil and failure to cancel the "
service required" warning message!
I do love my present VZN
Formentor but I don`t think I would buy another!
