right had the car for over amonth never used the key fobs cause they wouldnt work...

so today i went to get new batterys for them (as there were no batteries in them in the first place!!)
put them in... tried to unlock and lock the car but wasn't working, the little red lights on the fobs light up when you press the buttons though.

so just wanting to ask you guys if anyone knows what the problem is, if it could be the sensor in the car or what...

thanks :)

If that doesn't work the box for the locks is behind the clocks on my 2000 Cordy and I'd imagine it'd be the same for the Mk2 Ibiza, you could try unplugging and plugging it back in.:)

lol i tried bout 4 times.... put key in turn to ignition then off take key out then press one button and the other 3 times then put key back in then try it... didnt work :s

Try starting the car quickly then turning it off and doing the press one button then the other 3 times.

If not that try disconnecting your battery for 30 mins. Then reconnect it and try again.

you need to press the other 3 times, whilst holding the 1st button so youre pressing them both together ;)

yeah thats what i did...

put key in
turned to ignition lights
then taken the key out quickly
held onto the top button closest to the key then pressed the other 3 times with a small pause

but as it says on the thread the locks should try to unlock or lock but they dont even do that :s

im confused????? lol

Could be your remote is broken. The red light on the key should flash 5 times if you have pressed the buttons correctly.
