Rear left wheel started to loose pressure slowly but does not go full flat.... All the rest are spot on after a week sent up.

Visual inspection revealed nothing.
Car is 3 month old.

I probably have to pop in the a service to check it
Just wondering what this might be? Was it a puncture I'd have expected it to go to 0 psi....
 
I'd def get it checked out. Could be the tyre needs resealing.

Could be;
  • A faulty valve
  • Poor tyre seal with the rim
  • Slow puncture; you might have a nail, screw or sharp stone on the inner tread or inner sidewall that’s not easily seen from a visual inspection.
As the tyre will need to be removed from the wheel to fix any of the above, then wherever you’re taking your car to get this fixed, be sure to get them to agree the condition of your wheel before they remove the tyre. I’m assuming as your car’s only 3 months old, the wheel is in new condition, and you want it to stay that way! A careless tyre fitter or poorly maintained tyre changing equipment can easily damage a wheel, especially if it’s a diamond cut alloy. Forum member nokiauk was unfortunate enough to have one of their wheels damaged recently getting a puncture repaired;

Mine was doing this last week, got a pressure loss warning for the right rear. Checked the pressure was a little low, 4 days later, checked again and low.

21 quid at a tyre place and nail removed - all good now. It will most likely just be that
 
Could be a multitude of things, as SRGTD says.

Whatever you do, DO NOT use the sealant stuff for a 'quick fix' if you have it, unless you absolutely have to!

It renders the tyre unfixable, so you'd have to have it replaced! I learned that the hard way on a 2 week old Volvo V40..:cry:

lucky I don't have the sealant stuff, car came with a spare wheel.

how would u go about this?
I was planning to:
- clean the wheel
- take a photo when I arrive at the garage
- talk to the manager and ask him to be careful with the unmarked wheel.
- what else?

I'm going to place where they also refurbish alloys, so I hope they no how to handle them properly ...
 
Probably a slow puncture, I had a nail in mine (close to edge too), it lost more though...like 3 PSI a day...went to ATS, 30 mins and £20, it was fixed. I didn't see any marks on my wheels after, it was 205/55 R16s though. @ Tully1980, how did you find the V40, I'm going to a V40 T3 end of the year (new one though, with Thor hammer LEDs).

When I got my Ibiza in the winter, it didn't lose any pressures for a good 6-7 months. Key was winter it was at the higher end pressures, when it warmed up, though the tyres might have lost some PSI, it remain as temp increased..cancelling out the pressure loss.

I really liked it. We had a 2015 (65 Plate) T2 as we got a really good deal on one. My ex still has it.

The only thing I will say is that they’re not amazing on fuel. We were getting about 33-34mpg from the Volvo which is what I get from my Cupra 300 which has 3 times the power (370bhp compared to 122bhp)..

Agree, a wheel refurbishing company is probably the best place to go to minimise the risk of damage, as they’ll have lots of experience in taking care of customer’s wheels when fitting tyres.

I’d take the photo in the presence of the manager so he knows the photo shows the wheel’s condition immediately before they remove the tyre. So if there’s any damage after they’ve removed and refitted the tyre, they can’t deny they caused it.

Ouch! mid-30s mpg? Currently have a 1.0 EcoTSI, does anywhere from 45-52mpg a tank)..Lodon to Manchester just under NSL, 57mpg!.

At least mine will have 152bhp...I'm hoping yours was the Ford derived 1.6 EcoBoost..(eg..non Thor Hammer ones)..in 2016 Volvo started to used their own 1.5 engines...concensus is high 30s / low 40s mpg. You weren't driving the V40 like u are your Cupra are u? Eg...foot to the floor? Hence the mid-30s.

Back to tyre issues, at least it would come with 205/55 R16 tyres, probably easier to not scratch then my current 215/40 R17 (black rims) tyres...

It was a 2.0 engine. I know this as I thought it was the 1.6 until I had to call the dealer and they informed me it wasn’t..! I was driving it exactly as I drive my Cupra - I’m not a heavy footed driver all the time, just when the mood takes me..!

My V40 (R Design) had 17s. Tyres were 215/40/17.

I hope the 1.5T sips more than drinks the petrol...

Not in one case I had. If the tyre is thoroughly cleaned out internal patching works fine.
Some tyre fitters say that because they're thieving arses.

I got a pressure warning on my dash the other day and found a nail in the side - non repairable. The tyres were 2 weeks old! Annoying.
