with the engine running im able to pull the actuator rod towards me and then let go andit snaps shut, which means its closing correct? Which means its ok?

Yes but its not generating boost when not being driven. Your gauge will read 0psi with engine on but not driving. Pulling the rod just shows its not stuck and can function ok.

It did get a good pushing about when fitting the mannifold and its somthing i havent checked. But again if the DP might have snapped it would make a blowing noise would`nt it?

sounds like a turbo problem m8 poss something dromed down when you had the manifold off i would take the turbo intake pipe off only one clip check turbo shaft is running frre b4 you go any further tbh m8 hope its not the turbo but upgrade time if it is lol.

this is going to sound really strange did you put any rag or tissue down the hole to the turbo when you had the mani off cause if you left that in there that would cause a major restriction and cause it not to reach 0 psi

Its a low milage k03s as it is... [:@]

So remove the TIP and make sure the turbine is running freely?

no nothing was put over the turbo when i was fitting the manni.

It's so hard to even hazard a guess without hearing seeing it.

Will it drive?

If it does and you can't hear the sound of metal on metal it can't be the end of the world.

Have you got a photo of the top of your engine bay 'as is' so it provokes some thought. Trying to run a logical thought process of the issues that may exist from component to component!

I'm thinking in Oxford who the best independent VAG garages are. There is Autotechnic in Botley behind the post office, then there is in Farmoor Service Station out on the road to Witney (from Botley). There used to be a reasonable garage down in Jericho that dealt with turbo cars but they weren't VAG specific.
Since AmD left Oddington its been a bit thin on the ground since I was there in the late 90's.

Certinatly no metel on metel sounds and the car drives perfectly but with no boost. I work in botley, and ive heard good things about autotecnik. Where abouts is it in botley and what post office?

Alladin motorsport is the one in jerico if its the same one as im thinking of.

the engine bay just looks normal at the moment as its all been put back together.

n75 disconnected same thing? (would expect actuator pressure not 0psi mind you)

it has to be hose split, turbo stuck by debris/seized, wastegate open, dv short circuiting

it drove with boost then lost it.

most bizarre - sight unseen i cant help any more fella

do you have vagcom? airflow reading anything? (like tip's off)

Did you remove any oil lines on the turbo when fitting the manifold, if so did you prime it before starting as you could have seized the impellor but with fluid bushes like on the K03S i'd expect it to blow oil if it had a worn turbo impellor and still move.

Best thing to do is remove the tip and see if the impellor moves... the induction side will not effect boost pressure only MAF reading so it's nothing to do with the TIP coming away slightly.

Yeh this morning i bypassed the N75, by blocking tip connection and inserting a bleed valve inline from charge pipe down to actuator.

Yeh i have got vag-com what would be best to log in this situation?

Im going to go get under the car now and check the shaft in the turbo.

The only thing i forgot to mention is that when fitting the manni i dropped a socket which i was unable to retrive, this fell down near the underside of the manni so i wouldnt have thought it would have got into the turbo? Plus i assume i would of heard somthing on start up if it did? I let the engine run for a good 20minutes and gave it a good few revs before taking it out for a drive.
