Loud wind noise when driving??

Hey guys.

does anyone else have this problem whilst driving?

There is alot of noise coming from where the mirrors are... through the seal just behind the speakers when driving down the motorway sounds like youve got the window down.

Is this an issue with everyone or have you found a way to solve it??

Very common issue.
No idea how to fix it, people have done so many different things.
Windows seals, Wing mirror alignments.
One of the many things may or may not fit it.

I had it really bad in my 1.2, Never had it in my 1.9, got it real bad in the cupra!

Get it when its very windy from drivers side only.

got it in mine. had it really bad, had all door seals replaced under warranty then realised it was the damn wing mirror. only have it on the drivers side though which is a tad strange. Just turn ur music up a little bit to cover the noise, or drive faster so the engine noise deafens it out! haha

Got it on my 1.4sport only on driver side only noticeable when drivin 40+mph.

Any simple ideas on how to get rid of?????

Thanks for the reply guys... i onyl get it on drivers side aswell for some reason.

Going to try wind deflectors and if not just turn my music up lol.

never noticed it in my car. i suppose my cd player could posssibly be louder though. ha

do the wind deflectors make its quieter?

Yup, got this in mine, just turn the music up louder.

wind deflectors are around the glass and won't prevent the wind noise around the wing mirror

Best solution. Sell it.

Even seat aint got a clue, i spoek to customer services after 3 years (thats right the whole of the warrenty period) trying to get it fixed.

If it annoys you it always will and you'll look for it.

I find 20 on the old radio works a treat.

I just got hold of the door and bent the top in..it stopped it. Sure it makes some creaky noise but its solved it and have never had any problems with the window or anything! Had it really bad FWIW.

I have to say, mines not that bad although there will always be some wind noise because its a small car. Have got many, many other creaks, groans and squeaks and thats after only two years lol. I notice you have the same colour as me (GarethPitt18), only the second one i have seen this colour, is it a formula sport?

Yeah, it is. Does your back bumper look a slightly different shade of blue cos mines does and it bothers me and i know the bumper hasnt been resprayed?
