Hi,

me again!

was thinking of lowering my car and getting a cupra r front splitter fitted to make my car more gangster.

what are the costs involved in this and are additional parts requiried or any issues to be aware of? (eg. are lower profile tyres needed --- my rims are standard 17's and tyres are statndard)

cheers folks.

your faithful padawan learner,

Satilaboy.

The costs depend whether you want the quick and not very good way (just springs) or to do a proper job (new dampers and springs). The standard wheels should be fine with a lowered car tbh, so aside from the cost of the lowering kit, alignment and possibly fitting you've got nothing else.

I've been looking at suspension kits on the net. i take it i'm looking at the right thing?

Saw:

. KW Varient 1 Kit for £560 - drops of 35-65mm front and rear

and
. PI Coilover Set for £394.

I have heard though that coilovers mess your ride up and are a waste of money but being a complete novice i really don't have a clue what to look at.

has anyone lowered their Leon Cupra 1.8 20VT???

any advice? particularly on how much to lower to.

cheers,

Sat

drop it more than 35mm and be prepared for new arb at the front - otherwise you'll be fouling on the driveshafts.

what do u mean, you're on the right track? PI are not very good as brendy said, stick to FK Automotive, Koni etc.

Whether you go coilover or shock/spring combo is down to you - both have merits

i hear you about that brand. i just meant am i looking at the right equipment, whatever the brand. don't want to order parts that don't do what i want.

you want to lower your car - so ur looking at coilovers and shocks/springs.

I can't think of ANY other way to lower a car, other than just springs (which has already been mentioned above) - so unless you plan on getting some very fat people to sit in the car, i suspect you are looking at the right gear
