I just received a set of 35mm lowering springs from KW there and after having a good read at this thread I thought it would be wise to call KW direct and ask them for any information they have on the matter as I don't want to even open the box if there is a safety issue.
I phoned the KW Automotive UK number and got through to a gentleman who spoke perfect English but spoke with a heavy German accent so I can only presume he has been sent over from KW in Germany and has a reasonable knowledge on the product/suspension (Big assumption I know)
Anyway he said that the possibility of the springs coming loose from the rear is completely untrue and went on to say that the OEM dampers are perfectly fine with KW'S springs up to about 40mm,any lower and there is a need for coilovers and went on to say that there would be absolutely no
problem of any kind having the 35mm ones fitted to my car
With such assurance over a recorded phonecall where I even got the guys name, I'm feeling mighty tempted to go ahead and have them fitted.
However ibizaracebrake you sound incredibly knowledgeable on the matter and I wouldn't like to come a cropper especially after you have warned about this, further to the point is the fact Iam by no means savy on vehicle mechanics
what to do what to do...
