on daveibiza's drive.
hi,

Looking to lower my 04 leon about 30mm? is lowering a diesel diffrent to petrol due to weight of the engine? it is with some/ most cars.

if anyone can recommend what make springs (yes springs not coilovers had them on my last car, not good) they use?

Thanks:funk:

Ive just lowered mine 40mm with a jom springs and shocks kit off ebay cost me £140 delivered and are great sits exactly how i wanted them too.

Get it 4-wheel aligned after fitting mate. Mine felt rubbish until it was set up properly. My car sits on Eibach Pro-line springs/shocks - probably not low enough for you. Pics in sig link.

i want to make mine sit a little lower not much would say 15 20mm , whats the 30drop like

had 40mm on my old car and was too low for bumps n stuff ,

also dont want to compromise ride quality its pretty stiff/good handling now ,

in the past mates have droped cars on std shocks and it was awfull ride , bouncy etc , would this still be same or are the cupra shox better

cheers

It's always best to get matched springs and shocks and it'll alwyas give you a better ride quality and a better hadling car.

My H&R Cup Kit lowered the car 35mm. Although I was pleased at the time looking at it now I wish it was another 15mm lower so a 45-50mm drop wouldnt be so bad.

reason for not going too low is , bumps / lanes dont want any stiffer than oem

as i have alittle one my old car was decked on spax adjustables and even on softest his head was bouncing all over the place (plus rear passengets were getting winded

i think the oeam setup is pretty good /frim , just wanted a little lower

Spax RSX are notoriously hard coilovers.

H&R do feel pretty OEM but leagues in front in terms of handling vs OEM. Might be a good option for you?

I've been considering the Weitec Highcon coilovers, the few posts i've seen seem to be positive. Never lowered a car before and its those 'drive over' middle of the road speed humps that worry me. If i get them i'll defo be getting the train when i go back to Shef though!
