May I say minus 15mm from that if it's for a GTi/Cupra and that goes for all makes of lowering springs. Because the measurments are from the lowering springs fitted to a 1.0/1.4/1.6 and the same springs are used on the GTi/Cupra which is 15mm lower than the other models standard.

Therefore;

40mm = 25mm
60mm = 45mm

yeah i was think that!
60/40 on a gti/cupra
is 45/25 drop on a standard ibiza!

Nope 60/40 on a Ibiza (non GTi/Cupra) is 45/25 on a GTi/Cupra.

The lowering springs are the same no matter what engine or model you have the only thing different is the Shocks.... they would be slightly stiffer.

oops that's what i meant lol, sorry confused myself :confused:

Confused yourself everyone has confused the hell out of me lol and i read it god knows how many times

basically the gti/cupra sits 15mm lower then a normal ibiza

so if you buy 60mm springs for example, yours will go down 60mm
but a gti/cupra really only goes down 45mm as it sits 15mm lower to start off with
kinda get it? lol

Ahhhhhhhhhh i get it no i just got a normal ibiza , i want the gti though

they state different on price lists but I've rung them and they informed me that the same springs are used on all the models.

Hmmm custom springs with adjustable dampers might be the order of the day then to get a good amount of lowering. But that will end up costing as much as coilovers and you won't be able to adjust corner weights as easily :S hard decisions.

That's a no brainer to me.... collies fella!

When koni messed me around and decided on custom made ones by Faulkner. But they build to spec and not by car model... basically when they build springs they don't even know what car they for.

So you would need someone to design spec for you and I had endless of problems with that by people talking cra and messing me around!

Ended up getting bilsten coilovers and never loooked back!

Yeah, i think i'm just gonna leave my tdi alone for now anyway. If a hardly used good branded, second hand set of shocks and springs comes up i will most probably get them as my car is like it's on stilts.

you mean tractor stance :p

i wish i could afford some bilsteins! so springs/shocks have to do :D

It has got the tractor engine to go with it :p.

haha good one, but seriously look at my sig, i went from real low (80mm drop) to standard, to a 40mm drop as i couldn't stand it being as high as the eiffel tower!

Suj.. go lower ;)

i wanna mate, shame funds won't allow me to lol
maybe in the future!
someone told me my car is dropped more then 40mm (as i think the springs were made for a gti? i dunno if that's true tho)

PS i got some wheels in the pipeline, 15's, so should sit slightly lower :p
