Coincidently i also had a 306 gti6 also before my LCRs, very nice car and reliable apart from when it understeered into a rather large curb... handling certainly wasnt its strong point!

Are you sure??...A properly maintained Gti6 with decent tyres is arguably one of, if not the best handling hot hatches out there. A very underrated car .

Just noticed this thread, on my usual web browsing a few months ago on Pistonheads there was a 55 LCR in black for sale with 5k on the clock, it was owned by some old boy it was up for 10k+ if i remember. But looked newer than new. Anyone here buy it?

236000 miles - looked after the 1.8t goes on forever, still got a few Octavia vrs's at work, last one i knew of at 180,000 and a very hard life but still as strong as ever. Sadly i'm a derv man FR+ all the way.

My dad's got a 57 plate Golf GTI actually and he's only put 6000 miles on it from new!

98000 04 plate, and it is super solid. My mate has a 140k 52 plate and his is great too. They are very good engines if looked after.
