lumpy engine?

Just a quick note to all who gave me help on this thread.

My car is now fixed and back on the road. :funk:

As suspected it was the ignition module that was faulty. £116 and 15min later my car was running smooth as ever.

Lumpy running V5 with dignostic light on

To Super V5 or any body who can help ,,hope you still check on here from time to time as i've got a smilar prob, just bought a 170 V5 on a 54plate and its started to run lumpy and the dignostic light as come on .. should i be worried ???.. apart from that the car is fine lol ..Like you i live 200miles away from where i bought it so its a problem keep going back ever 5mins .Do you reckon the INGNITION MODULE is causing the problem and at a guess would you reckon by replaceing it ,it would fix it ?? look forward to all reply and help cheers​

Just read your post, I had been on holiday so sorry for the delay in replying.

If the diagnostic light is showing then it is almost certainly an ignition coil. Mine was the 150bhp which does not have coil packs and this is where my confusion came from.

As yours is a 170bhp then it has a single coil pack per cylinder and it is a fairly cheap part.

Check out some of the posts on here for coil packs, you'll soon find what you need.

Hello no worrys on your reply did ya have a good holiday by the way ??.. Any way i did a fresh post about me problem and ended up taking it in to seat main dealers for a full diagnostic and it turned out to be the lambda probe, so they carried out the work on wednesday and touch wood its been fine since and yeah its the 170bhp version .. so alls good for now
