MAF on a multimeter

I tested mine today, problem is I don't know what the reading should be on a healthy one (don't have access to the wifes car and a multimeter at the same time).

Anyway, I tested the plug on my car, and I get a readings from pins 1,3 and 4, but not on pin 2.

What does pin 2 do?

I think my next step will be an auto sparky though to rewire it.

Are you testing the plug on the wiring harness or the connector attached to the sensor?

What are you measuring (current, voltage, resistance?)

Is the car switched on ("ignition" on)?

pin 2 is the supply voltage and should read +12V (at the plug on the wiring harness) with the ignition on.

Pins 3, 4 and 5 all connect to the ECU.

Testing the plug on the harness, only tested resistance with ignition off, which would perhaps explain the lack of a reading on pin 2 if it carries 12v, I will try later on and see what, if any, voltage I get.

Also, pin 5 is on the MAF itself, but there is no female connector on the harness plug, should there be ?

Tested pin2 and no power or resistance on it, so I guess that is knackered, though get mixed ohms on pins 1, 3 and 4, so I guess the ECU connection is ok.

Anyone recommend an auto sparky in Berks?
