master cylinder faulty - your opinion?

just took it back again this morning as half way to work it decided not work.
but i can deffo relate to what ur saying sere as when i got there he said its not always easy to diagnose exactly which one it is thats causing the fault so they are keeping the car until monday as they are unable to get the part today (another the master cylinder incase the other one is faulty)
and if that doesnt cure the problem then the gear box is coming out to look at the slave.

real bummer mate, one thing I would say - if you end up having to take the gearbox out, consider a new clutch as there will be no additional labour involved whereas if you need a clutch at a later date it will be the same expense all over again

sorry to bring up an old thread just felt the need to end it all. (the thread that is)
in the end it was the slave cylinder that decided to go bust. but while the gearbox was apart as advised by everyone got the clutch changed and the fly wheel at the same my pocket cried when i got the bill. but hey prob is sorted.
gearbox dont feel the same tho but as said by most once the gearbox is opend for the first time it never feels the same again.
