I would agree aswell... The Megane F1 edition is it? is not made in the same production line as the lower spec models...more specialized, But yea fair play they are growing on me despite the french badge.

Xenons, Recaros, LSD etc etc all standard and the cost isn't too bad either! referring to the 06 model?

Ps However my Leon can still eat it for breakfast! (Just sayin!) hehe

My brothers got a stage 2 megane 250 cup supposedly pushing 317 bhp and I was really disappointed to say the least.
Felt pretty tame even to a standard R.
The Recaros are hard as hell the dash isn't fantastic and I think it's below the standard of a cupra.
Yeah it corners well but it's a total bone shaker.
When I jumped out of a stage 1 apr cupra in to his stage 2 RS I thought there was something wrong as the performance is no where near as strong.
Anyone choosing between a VAG car and a Renault and choosing the Renault Doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
The Renault looks nice and corners well but that's where the story ends I'm afraid.

Ok guys next March im wanting to trade in the Leon for a petrol turbo now these two are the cars im contemplating ^ , i have used the search function but all i can find is vs focus rs , vxr and st so sorry if there is a thread but im just wondering what are the pros and cons of both these cars, standard vs standard performance, remapped vs remapped and also both these cars tuned to their furthest potential without changing turbo.

Again please forgive me if there is a thread if so link me please

The megane is a far more enthusiast type car (LSD, Brembos etc as standard) the 265 with a few most is very very fast round the track and B roads with more than enough power to satisfy most people requirements.

The stage 2 cupra would have it in the straight line but the megane is much better out the box and has poor resale values, i owned a 225 previous and allthought it had its issues, was a great car.

The 265's ride isnt half as bad as people make out, some internal parts are forged to take much more power and ive seen a few with 330bhp which is a great mix of power and capability.

Much more reliable than the older models aswell and are much nicer inside, id have one if it wasnt for the fact that the resale values aint great and my insurance is silly, best hot mid sized car there is, and im a big SEAT fan.

Theres a reason why it holds the record round the ring for a FWD car.

I was very impressed with a stage 2 megane rs I went in, however I found the power delivery very very smooth and didnt *feel* quick, yet still thrashed a Stage 2 New S3 over and over...

Corners are very erm - switched on to say the least and cant imagine anyone falling asleep in it!
