Meguiars bug remover

Any tips on getting this c**p off my plastic trim and paint? I debugged the car earlier and now all my bumper grills look like I've hit a tub of emulsion on the motorway... paint wasn't hot and I've followed the directions to the letter, needless to say meguiars ain't getting a penny of my hard earned ever again

I've heard that peanut butter works for removing excess polish on trims etc, might be worth a go.

got it off, steam cleaner at work... need to repolish the car now though lol

I always used to struggle with Megs bug and tar remover, would always leave a milky residue behind... havent used it for ages.

AG intensive bug and tar remover is better, its more solvent based and works really well.

Those sorts of products will strip anything off protection wise though so you'll always have to consider the amount / area you cover with them and reapply any sealant / wax you have.

Sorry to revive this thread, but I recently bought and tried this Meguiars Bug & Tar Remover on my Jeep Wrangler. Needless to say I'm now stuck with a lot of white residue stains / spots that are a PITA to remove, especially from my polyesters fenders and bumper. Can any of you helpful Seat drivers with similar experiences tell me how to best get rid of the stains? I've tried 12% ammonia but it seems to do little...

i used armor all bug and tar remove and it works well, there is one that rain-x makes that you spray on before you wash the car to loosen the bug residue.

Thanks Speed, but I'm not trying to remove bug residue, I'm trying to remove the white residue left by the Meguiar product... Or is that what you meant?
