According to this website http://www.audiosources.net/viewproduct.asp?id=930 This one does have the bluetooth phonebook and displays caller ID. YEaaaaaaa

The waywell and audiosources units are the same ones, it's just unclear who actually manufactures these. best quote I've had for either is the £360 + whatever import tax + no real warranty.

I liked the idea of the uk based dealer in case of problems.

It looks like take a punt on the waywell or wait a while for a phonebook edition from the uk guys.

I'll probabally wait.

Found a person on ebay who has good feedback accepts paypal at no extra charge and gives 1 year warrenty for the product, looks exactly the same as the waywell one. Wants £390 including delivery and free igo 8 maps, no import tax either.

I am really considering buying this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160309613838&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123

It comes with 1 year warrenty, its the same as the one sold on audisources and waywell comes with free maps (igo) and if there is any problems its easy to contact the seller.
Also no import tax as can be wrapped as a gift, takes 3-7 days delivery.
Also if someone else was to buy one with mehe would do them for £378. Anyone else up for it?

got to say from reading it does seem pretty good especially as it claims to be compatible with steering controls and its looks just like the rns too!

I am very interested in purchasing one as well, but to me it is the waywell wd6050 on checking the pictures on ebay the system button lay out and also the interface set up. Reading the description on the eBay seller it does state that there may be import tax to pay, so is the seller just taking the order and then purchasing the systems straight from waywell.

If this is the case is it cheaper to order it direct from waywell

Yea it is the same as the waywell wd6050, but also the same as audio source one. I think they are both the same unit. He may be ordering direct from them, but in bulk as he says there are 10 available so maybe he got a good discount. I emailed waywell direct and they wanted $540 which is £398 with todays rate in paypal. Also i think it may be easy to buy from the seller on ebay as you can contact him if anything goes wrong. It does say you will be charged with import tax, but i asked him if he would mark it as a gift and say its of low value, which would mean no charge when coming into the country. What do you think then?

13snc, do your steering wheel controls work for the new unit?

yes... only source button not because it is diferent protocol (touch screen)

..this unit (other replica units too) is plug 'n play.. just unplug your original radio unit and plug this and thats about it for instalation... the hardest thing is make room for bunch of cables on the back.. and big conector

pstables, way do you need soft reset button for the device on your steering wheel?

I was being sarcastic. Windows CE / Mobile / etc aren't the most reliable of platforms to build something on (I have several years of developing using Windows CE and derivatives). The first thing to find on Windows powered PDAs is the soft reset button. On very early HP devices they even put the button on the top next to the keyboard. There's confidence for you.

Just be glad it's in a stereo / satnav and not in the engine management system.

This isn't relevant really but you'd be suprised how many cash machines run on a form of CE.
