Won't work properly. I have been told any part numbers ending 8xx can not be unlocked. You need to look for glove box units ending 2xx.

It seems trying to find an aftermarket mk3 headunit with apple carplay and android auto doesn't exist ?
or am i wrong if so where these units ?

Its a mib1 i think tbh thats my issue as id love the high def screen 5'8 or 6'5 but it would cost a bomb to change?

You can get headunits that are full android, not android auto. A guy at work has one and its actually really good, all the apps can be installed, and it runs the full version of them, not a scaled down AA version.

He got it from that AliExpress, was very wary and it the delivery took a while but that was customs not the seller. Once it got here the fitting was quite straightforward though, and it only cost him a couple of hundred quid

mib std 5'8 screen which i have checked box im going to get mib2 with 6'5 screen or could I get the 8'screen after got a mib2?

My understanding from others posts with links to Spanish sites, is that the 8" screen is a straight swap for MIB2 units. However the 6.5" screen won't work with MIB1.

your options are:
1. buy an MIB2 unit and larger screen, have the component protection removed then fit to your system and have the units coded (circa £1000-1300)
2. But an aftermarket system and install it, junking the standard system
3. Do your research before you buy the car and buy a car with the options that you want

if you want to know what system you have, do a quick search on 'how to tell which MIB system I have'...

Hi, my SEAT SD card is missing from slot 1, how can I find if my Navigation is 6P0 or 5F0 version? Car is Leon FR from 2014.
Thanks

if you go aftermarket make sure it supports all the in car functions you use, a lot do not so all the stuff you look at on the screen today may be gone and again you may loose the ability to use steering wheel functions so again do your research. I looked at the Alpine one because it does work with all the seat car functions but it does not support Seat Sound or Traffic Recognition.

The other option is stick a tablet in the car and use all the good stuff you want and still keep everything working.
