Bit of a late reply!

Ended up putting it into my dad's pals garage near Braehead - Guy who works there used to be an Audi tech so wasnt too bad! Got timing belt + 60k service (Inc parts + labour) for £320 :)

thats a good price. audi vw repair centre gave me prices which add up to £552 for major service, brake fluid and timing belt/ water pump

i might phone the dealers for a laugh

Good news :) That wasnt too bad then, like you said though, I'd still claim off the council!

Well mine was as low as it would go at the back, and about an inch and a half left on the front. I'm thinking I'm just going to drop the back to match the front in the pictures at the top of this page (How its currently sitting). It looks good low, but I can't get in my driveway with passengers with the adjusters out :(

Thats a bit of a pain, don't your friends think your wierd having a car that low lol? My pals are'nt into cars at all and don't understand my obsesssion ha ha.

Eeek.. Glad I got mine done cheap. Mine included the water pump too, forgot to say.
Lol, probably be over £1k knowing them! I've only been at the dealers once after I got my car, and that was to buy a brake switch that I fitted myself :p Services/MOT's and recently the timing belt/water pump all get done over at Braehead.....

Yeah it was a bit of a pain, but I just told them to get out before I went in. They don't drive, and like your pals aren't into cars, so either they got out or never got a lift

My mates don't understand the idea of modding the car at all, they don't see the point in any mods, like HID kits, changing the alloys, FR grilles like I've done, colour coding etc. I daren't mention lowering it. :(

Yet they're all understanding about changing the car and just buying another one!

Atleast they drive Chris lol. I think modding is only for certain people though, a car is just a car at the end of the day for some people!
Some of them drive, some don't. Instead I've a mate who just thinks a Golf Mk4 1.4E (he's thinking of getting one, no car and no license at the moment!) is the dogs danglies... I'd rather have my car than a Golf 1.4E! At least I've got air-con!

I have air con, doesn't work though :p

I lowered the back today, as low as possible with the adjusters in :) Much better looking than it was recently, but still with more practicality than as low as possible like it used to be.

I'm thinking of putting the front down slightly, but I'll see how this goes first!

And yes, I know its crying out for tyre shine - But I've none atm and it was only a quick wash anyway :p

Looking nice mate :)
I wouldn't drop the front any more as i dropped mine and the front wheel starts to scrape the arch when cornering, so i had to raise it up a little :(

Couldn't agree more with rf860, that Meguiars tyre gel is the best stuff and it smells amazing :)

Cheers

Ben

Thanks mate, appreciate it! :)
Yeah I did have it lower at one point, and it was catching slightly on corners.. I'll probably keep it where it is. I took it out a quick drive and it feels so much better!

Does it? haha.. worth buying to use or to smell? :p I normally use AG Tyre Dressing but I ran out and couldn't be bothered going to buy more since it was only a quick wash

Yeah it does smell good lol

Mick, what's the ride like on your raceland coilovers? doing a bit of research at the mo [B)]

Ride is better than standard mate, much smoother and less crashy. When I had it decked it was quite bumpy, but you expect that and it would be the same on any set that isnt damper adjustable.

Where it is just now is actually quite comfy and obviously better handling too :)

hmm, looking at getting coilovers but not sure if i want to shell out £200 for them to break 6 months down the road. Also, with them being at the lower end of the market, surely you get creaking/knocking?

Well I've had these on for probably near a year and a half with no problems. Obviously some people will have problems, but you get that with the dearer kits too.

No creaking/knocking, did get creaking in winter but that was the same as everyone with the rubber drying.
