Mileage on you new Cupra

Dealer reckons the Cupra is built by Seat Sport and then tested round their track, and that I should expect around 21 / 26 miles on the odo before I receive it.

Given that the wisdom is that SeatSport do not work on the cars and they are factory built, what kind of mileage should I expect on them?

Is the dealer simply misinformed?

Comments on owners / dealers would be appreciated, esp on mileage when you picked up the car.

Should have probably between 10 and 20 miles on it depending how long the dealers test drive route is for the pre delivery inspection. I believe the dealer is misinformed re SEAT Sport.

the car will have been round a test track to make sure nothing falls off, round a huge car park at the factory, round 2 dockyards, and a PDI

that's about right to be honest, though your dealer could just rest it & you can pick it up with zero miles if you wanted

And here was me thinking the dealer would hand it out to an oink for the night to play about with to make sure nothing falls off.

My Ibiza only had 7 miles on it when I picked it up - was quite impressed, though it had probably been reset at some point!

Mine had around 30 miles on it, it hadn't been reset. But it also had a couple of trips to have its Tracker sorted.

Mine had about 40 miles on it.. Thats a bit much in my opinion.

Only 7 miles, but as previous posts this could have been reset.

7 miles is your PDI for sure, and will have been reset

does it really matter though? I mean they can reset it any number up to about 100 I think

I know with the LCRs the millage could be reset to zero upto a max of 100km (just over 62 miles)

so therefore id assume the same, that it can be reset upto a max of 62 miles on the clock!

is there a way of knowing it has been reset, or is it just guesswork based on the indicated milage when its received?

i know that a large japanese motor manufacturer in the north east only takes 1 in ?? around thier test track as a representative sample, and assume the build quality of all cars produced is similar between samples. the rest are simply thrashed from the end of the production line to the compound were they sit for donkeys.

incidently, they redline all engines on the testbed even before they see a car so i dont know how important it is to be careful running in a new car these days.

Only 5 on mine
