Miles to a tank

im getting about 280miles per tank on my 1.4 at the moment..i take it that this is bad...but going abroad in a few weeks so will have it serviced and what not when i get back!

Quick update, I've done 1566 miles this week in my 98 2.0 16v, and managed 33.4mpg, mainly fast motorway, 80-90mph.

Aircon on about 10% of the time, not too bad I reckon.
