Ok, started using millers additive as heard such good things about it. But how often should i add it, is it excessive to use it every tank. I bought the first bottle from halfords but have since found it on ebay for 8.99 so don;t mind using it if it does the engine some good.

So whats the score guys.

Use every tank.

I also "double dose" every tank too!

ANother option is get hold of a 5ltr bottle - depends on your mileage!

I'm the same as Trebor. I use it every full tank and give it a double wallop!! :D

I must say though, the new bottle design is pants! Stoopid black nozzle type thingy to mess around with. Why change it Millers? If ain't broke, don't fix it!

Cheers

I use mine all the time. Double dose on the first few tankfuls and before an MOT, then single dose the rest of the time. You will find it cheaper per tankful than filling up with the super fuels (V-Power D, etc.).

I have bought the new stuff from my local Motor factors @ £10, but not yet used it as I have plenty of DSP4 left. I like the fact that 1 measure treats 50l and not 20 as before, so you don't have to put 2 or 4 measures in. I hope the black nozzle will stop dribbles that makes the door pocket stink.

Picked up a 5ltr bottle of the stuff for £50 off ebay.

Get a 100ml bottle and a funnel - much easier.

As I do 25,000 plus miles each year - a much cheaper option!

The black collar is for newer cars, it allows the neck to be inserted into the newer nozzle fail safe systems.

Im sure you can just take the collar off completely though? I shall mention the drips to my boss.

I'll be honest and say that when I used the new bottle for the first time, it was a much messier experience than the older type one.

JimH has a point about the advantage to the 50l dosage measurement, much better application.

I'll try and remove the black nozzle, hopefully it'll come off ok and make using it less smelly!

Loadsa people on fleabay sell it.

Personally I go for the £60 (or so) 5 litre. Much better VFM.

Every tank full too but the first few tanks some double doses to clear the crap out.

I decant and use old worcerstershire source bottles.

Are you saying it's made it worse? I would have thought it would would dribble between the bottle and the inside of the pipe making it better. The smaller bottle top looks like it's going to be a pain.

cheers chris,i bought a 500ml bottle from halfords because i couldnt wait-i wanted to see what you were all rating so highly.

I went to to the petrol station then put a double dose of millers in (after working out how the bottle works lol) and then £50 of diesel went in the tank, payed for it and got charged £11,left quite happy, then as i was driving out of the station looked in the rear view mirror to see a bloke chasing after my car shouting uve underpaid very aggitated as it was my fault.i just laughed and played stupid.

Anyway have done 30 mile and already the car feels loser,so thumbs up so far!!

i gotta echo that about the new bottle design, it's a pain in the arse and doesnt even stop the chamber filling up, its good stuff, used a full bottle and by the end of it i did notice an improvement in mpg by about 6-7mpg per 40 mile trip and the car was smoother. I didnt experiance any power gains tho.......

AND GOOD GOD THE STUFF STINKS!!! Hard to get rid of the smell as well.

Can't say I notice a power gain either...but there does seem to be less smoke.
I just use it as the label says.
