Milltek LCR Turbo back exhaust, Road test in progress

Only just seen this thread.... definately have to agree with wayne, seeing a small pipe in a huge tailpipe just screams 1litre corsa/saxo with a HUUUGE BLING RIPSPEED EXHAUST, YO!!! Not in the slightest bit desirable. I'd rather stick with the factory exhaust - even though you can see what looks like it should be a twin exit exhaust, at least the tip moulds roughly around this, and doesnt sit so excessively far away from the actual exhaust exit. If this is aiming to be a market leader, I can't see the reasoning behind this - at least recess the 'pea shooter' far enough into the tip that it is not visible!

That said, if this is all that has been changed, it does seem to have produced some pretty impressive gains.... are the before/after figures on the same set of rollers? and unfortunately, as Lee said, it's difficult to hear the noise over the distortion/sound of the rollers...I think you need to give someone a camera and blast it past them to give a real impression of the sound!

Sorry if this sounds negative, I'm glad Milltek are still trying to develop a nice system for our beloved cars, although personally I quite liked the old 'squarer' shape tip they used to do, the whole system in general does look to be nicely put together!

You're a lucky bloke Darren! (I'm sure this is partially because you chose the best colour LCR!!)

I tend to agree, I really dont like the way you can see the smaller pipe inside. Why not just a big fat oval? Looks much better imo

Cool, cheers for the update Darren. I'll check back to the thread in a couple of weeks Glad it's going well and the stage 1 tweaks have brought out gains worthwhile. Your car is something to look upto!

Very tempted by this exhaust even if it's a bit more than the Blueflame.. Looking at the pics again I have to agree it looks a very well constructed.

The 23rd has passed, by a week infact..

Have you spoke to Milltek more about the system's production release info?!

"Hi Darren , just changing the internal design of the tip to a cone to respond to the people who don't like to see the pipe and then we're ready to go . Product will be available thru Shaun (AmD) from 3rd wk Oct.
Prices available over the weekend."

I'll speek to Shaun@AmD tomorrow just make sure he knows this has gone live now, if you want a price or any more info give AmD a call on 01708 861827,

I'll be keeping the one I'v got, it's now a one off

I'm very happy with mine, I had a complete new system fitted and it is starting to sound really nice, and now the new map is on it goes really well.

We put the car on the Rolling Road and AmD today.
My last RR session in Febuary 2010 the car made 270.1BHP and 261.7LB/FT
Todays Runs

All mods are the same as in Febuary except the 3" Down pipe and 200 cell cat
Stage 2 will hopefully be going on next weekend

thats pretty good fella, 281 and still only running stage 1?! I cant wait to see the results when you go stage 2, As mine is still completely stock, im looking forward to the price of the whole system...i was quoted £1016.68 for the same system from Blueflame, so time will tell.

I been in DKs LCR and it sound awesome. Probably best turbo back system I heard on the LCR by miles I must say.

In my opinion blueflame sounds better, but everyone has their own opinion. AmD stock milltek and when I wanted my exhaust they kept trying to get me to purchase milltek. I refused and made them order a blueflame in. I made my decision after hearing Probee's at a Rolling Road day. Plus I much prefer the looks of the blueflame tip

I aint that stupid lol, I heard it when he was on standard K04 aswell and it sounded better than the Milltek

I cannot wait to get a new system. I had a Piper turbo back on my last LCR and that was immense. Really missing the noise on my current LCR..
