quote: The smartphone doesn't need the Seat App but if you have it then it would be an easy way to see if everything is working properly. You do however have to put the compatible smartphone in the correct mode so that it will work with mirrorlink via the car's infotainment system.

Thanks for all your advice, really appreciated, but what is the "correct mode" that the phone needs to be put in?

Hey man,
I edited the last post see above ^^^ I got it wrong!

According to the demo video (link above) by Seat, you do indeed need a Seat certified App. The video pretty much explains everything you need to know. As long as the phone is compatible you don't have to do anything apart from having the Seat App pre-installed.

If anyone here has tried Full Link - Does it work with any Android Phone?

Can i suggest we start a topic where by we can all list what we have Mirror or Full link, which phone/device it works with and which apps need to be on it.?

I will quite happily give a full guide, once i have a phone for it!

The Android Auto element of Full Link (a SEAT brand for the collection of 3 systems - SKODA call theirs SMARTLINK, but is the same as Full Link) is designed to work with Android phones running 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher. For more information, take a look at:

I'm still awaiting a dealer code for activation of full link. Wondering how the people, with full link, have found playing media through the new usb centre console port. My iPhone/iPod/iPad aren't recognised through normal media option. Wondering if it needs full link activating before this can happen?

Does your iPhone/iPad/iPod charge when you connect through USB? Otherwise You can always connect via Bluetooth...

All my iDevices are connecting through USB but I have full link activated

All devices charge fine through usb. Just a little annoying about not being able to play media through it. Bluetooth and sd card will have to do until seat dealers can catch up with new technology and figure it all out. I'm thinking the full link hardware is sat there.....just awaiting seat to sort out activation. Otherwise the "see dealer for activation" message wouldn't pop up when I select full link.

You will be able to purchase Full Link soon as an aftersales accessory on model year 2016 cars.

The package will be available through the parts ordering system; the update is completed with a secure code and using ODIS.

So i picked up my leon fr sc from the dealer on the weekend. Its got 2016 spec so 6.5 inch display. Full link shows as an option on the menu but when clicked it says it needs to be activated. If i go to the dealer how much will it cost ?

Has anyone had this activated.

Like ChrisLDN1 I picked up my car but Full Link had to be activated. I have spoken to dealer, and they say its not available YET!!

Also. Has anyone managed to connect an Apple via the USB (rather than Bluetooth). The dealer does not think its possible but it worked on my 2010 and 2012 models AND (I believe) a lead was supplied with 2015is models (when USB was in glove box).

I've booked my car my16 cupra in for 12th at my local Seat dealer to get full link activated. Costing £200 as it says in brochure online and he said it'd take a few hours... not sure why it'll take so long considering it's a software update

I still haven't done anything about getting a mirrorlink compatible phone for my pre-Full Link Nav High, but potentially now have the opportunity as my mobile comes out of contract next month.

Just wondered if anyone had successfully connected to Mirrorlink (not post May 2015 vehicles with Full Link) yet and if so what phone are you using?

SEAT only list a relatively low number of phones in their listings for Leons such as mine manufactured between 7th Nov 2014 and 29th May 2015 and then even fewer are available on Vodafone that my employer offers which are, Samsung Galaxy A3, S6 Edge and Note 4. The non-edge version of the Galaxy S6 isn't listed by SEAT which is a shame as it is better value and more likely to be affordable through work.

Link to listings here which is May 2015 - anyone know if there is a newer list:
