Hi everyone,
I have a slight issue on start up. I turn the ignition and the car will start but it chugs and misses for a few seconds and then it clears. If i turn it over once without starting it then try straight after to start it normally it doesn't seem to do it??? Does that make sense?

Running a little hesitant at the minute. Have had new red top coil packs on it so don't think it's the coilpacks. Have got the NGK Iridium plugs to go in. Are they pre-gapped?

It is due a service and in the past has thrown up a fault code to do with the engine speed sensor. But that doesn't always show up on a scan. Could it be to do with that?

Thanks for any info anyone might have :)

Dave

Well the best place to start is to replace the plugs, which should be gapped fine.

If you are throwing up and fault codes then they need to be sorted to ensure they aren't having and effect on the running.

Thanks, i'll get the plugs changed as that won't hurt.
The fault code is intermittent, i've had it cleared and then it doesn't reappear for ages. I'll have a look at getting the engine speed sensor changed as it has flagged it previously. I assume there's only one for the Cupra R?
