Does antone know the correct part number for the clutch/flywheel
side crankshaft oil seal.
Ive got an ihi cupra 2001 ayp/auq engine, which is a new
TSR 20vt unit. It dumped oil, 5litres of it, almost immediately on
first start-up.
Ive taken the seal off, it looks ok.
Im just wondering if they fitted the correct one for my engine........
the part no stamped on it is:-
06A 103 171B
anyone???????

fair comment

Yep, fair comment, but for the sake of just changing the seal, as opposed to taking the engine back out, ive spoken to tsr theyll pay for the seal if it was fitted incorrectly by them , or if it is faulty.
so, ill give it one shot.
if the problem's still there they are :censored: having it straight back, BELIEVE ME.........

local vw dealer tells me it comes complete with aluminium housing, that is, already pressed in. about fifty quids worth!!!!!!!!
should be simple enough job done carefully...
bit of oil on crank,a little instant on sump, etc etc etc.......:cartman:
