Mk1 Arosa Eleccy Windows

Hi Guys,

I'm a bit of a stranger in this part of the forum

Got a query with regards the eleccy windows on my sister's Mk1 1.0.....

Both of the motors appear to have packed up. It would appear looking at the exploded diagram on vagcat that the motor and lifting mechanisms are two seperate items, and can be seperated, unlike the Mk2 Ibiza which are 1 assembly.

Can anyone confirm this?

Also, it appears from vagcat, that the lifting mechanism is the same for both manual and eleccy..... is that also true?

If so, is it possible to fit manual winders to a car which has previously had eleccy motors????

You sure its the actual motors?

The electrical side is usually the issue. Check the fuses switches etc as I would have thought that the motor would be the last thing.

you should hear relays clicking in the doors when the switches are operated, can't imagine both motors would pack up at the same time, sounds like an electrical problem to me

Forgot to add that one window stopped working about 12months ago, and the other one about a week ago ;)

My sister 'managed' for the last 12 months, with just the 1 working window, but doesn't fancy a summer without any, especially as the 'rosa doesn't have AC
