No easy way of getting the code i'm afraid. Only SEAT,and they will charge loads, or maybe your local car audio shop may be able to crack/bypass it. I had the same thing and tbh you're best off just getting a new headunit. You can get some fairly good ones for around the £50 mark these days, will probably work out cheaper then messing about with that one. I've got a JVC one and the red illumination matches the car perfectly, looks OEM and sounds a shitload better than the aura.

Hi mate I had the same trouble when I bought my mk1 fr and luckily enough the code was on top of the stereo so hope this helps.

Cheers guys. I remember having a car with a coded radio years ago and the code was printed on a sticker in either the glove box or under the ash tray. Looked in both places and no luck. The radio is currently in safe mode which i think needs to be left on for a certian amount of time to be able to put the code in. Would i need a special adaptor loom or could i make one up? Im pretty handy with a soldering iron. Id just need the wiring code :)

There's a thread on here that tells u how to take it out of safe mode. And did u look on top of ur stereo for the code?

Ive had the radio out mark and had a look to see if its wrote on it anywhere but no luck. I think im just going to put one of the spare ones i have kicking about in it. Is it just a standard iso adaptor i need? Put a aftermarket stereo in a mates micra and the plug was wired different. Just dont want to fry any wiring. Cheers guys ;)

Cheers guys. All sorted. Put in a aftermarket one yesterday so all working now. I did have to swap the red and yellow wires over to store the radio stations but its sorted :)
