Al. am I right in thinking you sourced the Wavetrac yourself straight from the states?

I'm contemplating the same diff and a clutch upgrade. Could I be as rude and ask how much the diff and clutch is costing inc fitting? pm it if you would rather.

I actually bought it from a UK supplier for two reasons;

1) It was ordered in December before the VAT hike, and his price was pretty favourable for a UK supplier punting on a US diff.

2) With the diff being new age/generation and a step on from Peloquin/Quaiffe, I figured that if I buy it in the UK, and there is a problem with it, which by the way I am sure there wont be, I could effectively send it back, something that would be much more of a task had it been bought from the USA.

Also, I am a believer in keeping all the OEM parts for the car, so I had the diff installed in a spare gearbox I sourced. The diff was fitted to the gearbox by a company in England and the gearbox was modified and strengthened at the same time.

Net result is I could revert the car back to standard with the OEM gearbox, clutch, intake, exhaust, fuel pump etc etc

I had considered a single mass flywheel to compliment the box and clutch, but decided against as I have heard various single mass flywheels, and they can sound awful. As I have to take customers in my car, I would sooner not have to explain the bag of bolts rumbling about in the front at idle. The lower rolling mass would have been nice though I guess.

Just had AMD fit a quaife diff for me.
Picked the car up yesterday and all I can say is wow! :D

Can't believe how different it is now putting down the power on the twisties.
It feels like driving a different car.

Anyone who is thinking about doing this......
Just do it!
You will not regret it :funk:

To be honest Owen I'm not one for ragging it off the line

But obviously with any new "toy" you have to try it out.
It did put the power down a bit quicker and there wasn't any where near the ammount of wheelspin or wheel juddering you would usually get.

It really comes into it's own though powering out of corners.
You can actually feel it pulling the car back into a straight line.

You will be impressed when you get yours done in a couple of weeks time ;)

No it's not that cheap but I think I got a good deal.
Well I was happy with it anyway ;)

I didn't have the clutch done.
It was spoke about but it was decided that it didn't really need it at the moment.
Apart from the fact it was gonna be around a grand on top of the cost of the diff too

cool, i have told myself to stay with the standard one but i am still VERY tempted to upgrade while its appart. any ideas on the best brand anyone, not really wanting extra vibration that i think single mas will cause

I have a Quaife diff in mine - and there is only one thing to do.. GET ONE!!
It's SOOO cool and works beautiful!!

It made the car way faster in a straight line - but it's really really notisable when doing corners..
Before it would just skid and i had to lift off - and now it's like i have an unknown force pulling me to the inside of the corner!

Iv'e made my mind on this.. From now on ill have a diff in ALL my FWD cars - if i ever change away from my Cupra )

yeah mate, i have got a wavetrac diff on route as well speak and everyone is saying the diff is 1 of the best mods there is, wasnt sure whether to go for quaiffe instead but i chose wavetrac

After delays due to holidays, clutches not being available, work commitments etc etc, the diff which is currently sat in my spare gear box in my garage will be going on this week. Does anyone want any before and after tests done?

A choice of Peloquin, Quaiffe or Wavetrac. All will do the same thing, but the Wavetrac has newer technology over the others although at the same time, it is not widely proven or used, yet. All will cost approx the same to buy and fit.

Mine gets fitted on Thursday :D:D:D:D:D
