has anyone fiited big alloys to a mk2 leon was considering a 19" wheel 235/35/19 tyre or a 20" alloy 245/30/20 was going for the 20s any ideas or advise thanks chris

Ive had 19" BBS wheels on order for 3 months, will have them fitted by next weekend. IMHO 20" wheels will looks stupid, they will fit no probs but it might looks abit OTT and monster truck like. You pay your money you take your choice....

I think the 245's will stick out and/or cause arch rubbing issues.

19" or 20" will have an adverse affect on handling and I think you will suffer from possible rubbing issues esp with 245 tyres, stick with 18"s and go for 40 or 60mm lowering springs & shocks car will look the b*lloxs.

I agree, altohugh 60mm lowering is probably too much! (arch rubbing)

With regards to lowering, if you run your hand around the outside of the arch there is a bits of plactic that holds the arch liner on that might cause a problem!

Time will tell with regards to the 19s ruining the handling

dangb: can you post some pictures of that plastic? i know that there is one screw on the top of the arch on front wheels, but if i cut it, wouldn't plastic become unstable?

its the plastic bit that the screw goes into. I decided it wasnt needed.

thanks for ideas and coments will give it some thought probably go for 19 s cheaper tyres relatively speaking thanks dan gb but my car came with the aero kit fitted at the seat btcc factory hence havent got the old bumpers sorry chris

I cut it off about a month ago and have not had any problems

i had to buy new wheels for summer. Original FR 18"s "wear" winter tyres. And dont want change winter/summer tyres on one set of wheels.

does anybody know why is FR so high?? It seems to be like 4x4
Guess (Hope ) it will be ok with HR....
