Thanks to Damo and Peller for making me feel better about the whole debate.
Solved the whole "Cupra" calliper thing too altho purists would probably think it looks rubbish but I like

Not a purist thing, just make sure the decals can take the temperature :)

To make it look more like the 280, you can get the plates that say Cupra on them. They’re not a different calliper, just an insert. You’d just need to take the wheels off to fit. Pretty sure they just clip in.

Then it’s just wheels, wing mirrors and spoiler. I personally quite like the 18’s, but plenty of people selling the 19” Cupra wheels for ~£400 or less.

As for the CF spoiler, it’s £660 I think, and currently RPS have one. At least you don’t have to remove the existing spoiler and repaint your boot like me to fit it. £660 is a lot, but compared to an official spoiler plus painting, it’s not toooooo bad.

Thanks man.So where do I get these fabled insert plates from?
Gonna stick with 18"s as less weight and prob less crashy ride?On my VXR lots of owners preferred the 18" over 19" as it was a smoother ride with less understeer

Can’t find Cupra ones on eBay, just GTi...

However these guys are where I usually get my OEM parts from and are a site sponsor...

Your Cupra is a manual isn't it? I don't believe the 265 (these are rare aren't they?) had auto and only came in manual. Perhaps on the dyno it outputs 280 anyway, or maybe VAG were lazy and they are outputting near 300s...guess you would find out after the remap.

Right guys.It IS a 265 but I'm not amazingly bothered.Autotrader DID get back to me but it didnt have the BHP in the ad.Looks like I MAY have just assumed that any Cupra of that age was 280.Anyways..........Gonna get the spoiler first (cheers for link) and then some handling upgrades (lowered and uprated roll bar as I had on the VXR) then remap thru REVO.
Plan???

Will they fit the Cupra as one ad says it doesn't?

Thanks

No the Cupra didn’t come with side skirts, apart from the 280/290’s with the Sub 8 pack.

Side skirts on the 3 door. Well worth it in my opinion. I got them for my 280.

My previous pre facelift FR Titanium with skirts

Current facelift FR Titanium with blades

The skirts make the car look slightly lower from the sides where the blades just break up the plainness - you still have the sill under the blades to clean and i guess they're easier to catch your foot on getting in/ out of the car?
