I'm new here, I'm looking to buy a Ibiza Cupra Mk3, I test drove one yesterday that is a very good price, there were a couple of stickers from this site on the car so thought I would take a look and see some help. Mybe somebody knows the previous owner? Reg starts Y865, Its a red cupra, has been lowered, Jabba Sport remap/chip, bailey dump valve, brakes upgrade (front), and some sort of fancy clifford alarm and some nice pressed number plates.
There are a few niggling problems, firstly the EPC light is on, there didn't appear to be much loss in power, but ive never driven one before, so wouldn't know, the guy at the garage said it was on because the brakes had been upgraded blaa blaaa, not too sure I agree with that, as the only light that would be on for that, to my knowledge, would be an ABS light?? There was however a light smell of petrol and the car sounded LOUD (but again i dont know if that is normal), does this point to coilpack or lambda sensor?? Or something else?
The other problem, is the drivers seat height adjustment doesn't seem to stay in place, so as you accelerate and brake you're being bounced up and down (ANNOYING & dangerous) are there any known fixes for this? You can here the mechanism sort of catching a little bit when you move the seat but it doesn't stay put unless you push down on the handle and it doesn't move at all (like it should be).
