right i am been going mental over a boost problem i am having with my 2002 cupra turbo ..its loosing boost intermitedly you can take it out having lots of boost and then wham.. nothing all power gone .. i have changed n75 /valve checked dv .i have had it on a csanner and it comes up overboost error ..i have done some mods ..forge fmic/k03s/ sport cat/dynatwist.i even tryed un plugging maf ..but it runs like a bag of spanners and brings up light on dash .the only thing left is boost sensor ..i take it that is the sensor on the intercooler pipe ...cheers on any advice

Funily enough, i was ready a 4 year old post about this yesterday

Try searching for the criteria, RSD, knock, sensor, and Oettinger

That may give you some answers mate.

just a tip (and free).
disconnect the battery -ve terminal for the evening. when you reconnect, turn ignition on, but do not start the car. wait for ~2 mins (until throttle body adaption finishes) then start.

boost probs

i have changed air valve that sits on top of the engine and the one that sits next to the tip..my car was remapped proir to all these boost problems ..absolute i think

Sim, can you explain for me what this would do, and what benefit it would have please?

(please dont think i am being pedantic, i seriously dont know what this does, and would like to know)

Cheers Tom

ive got the same problem, ive changed my n75 valve turbo and actuator and the maf! this problem is really doing my head in !!!!!!

I have upsolute, ko3s, dv006, supersprint, and twister.

unfortunately the dealer called me at 8.05 this morning, saying the coil packs have not yet arrived, so they are going to call me to book me in as soon as they get here, get your car on vag com

the errors my car threw up are as follows

VAG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N

6 Faults Found:
17965 - Charge Pressure Control: Positive Deviation P1557 - 35-10 - -intermittent

16685 - Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected
P0301 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16688 - Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected
P0304 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16686 - Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected
P0302 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16684 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire DetectedP0300 - 35-10 – Intermittent

17963 - Charge Pressure: Maximum Limit Exceeded P1555 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

so will get the coil packs changed first, i have changed the n75f for an n75c which come on the cupra r, and it has helped it alot.

hopefully we will get to the bottom of this

i know a guy who runs a garage in cornwall and he has vagcom. he would do a diagnostic run for you for a good price. i doubt it would be free cos the business is very young and he cant afford freebies yet! are u not drivin the beeza at the mo then? its just i aint seen u around ex for a while....

ive had 2 coil packs go down had them replaced but still seem to have this problem and its not showing up on the computer! i have noticed on the other hand that on a cold morning or when first started, the turbo is there straight away! is it ment to do this? i only asy because a lad i know has a cupra that is chipped with no problems and when he first starts his car it tales about a min before the turbo works properly! almost as if there is some type of thing warming it up! i know my car used to do it but i thought the thing was playing up at the time! oh and i have been down exmuff for a while dude! been busy with work

I shall be trying something over the weekend

http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=72537

will let you know how i find it on tuesday/wednesday

if its tryin a bleed valve, it wont work. a bleed valve will only increase the boost not restict it. trust me ive tried that and it didnt work. ive been told to put a turbo smart valve on which will do either and again no differance even when i turned the boost down!
