@piggasinnaris indeed, hits the nail on the head I think.

In the Netherlands, its no different. (pseudo) SUVs are a very common sight

[edit]
Im probably one of the few users who use an iPod for audio in the car 🧓. I have all my music locally and only have Netflix as a streaming service (for my girlfriend)
I still use cd’s and the odd tape. ;)

I am happy to see this thread. My mk3 is 10.5 years old now. I have never owned a car to this age before. Not even my first car after passing my test. I travel a lot and drive many different cars. It is always a relief to get back to my 'old' Leon.

Thanks DaveS I’m happy to hear you love your mk3, lt got me thinking 2 weeks ago I made a good offer on a 17 plate Leon fr, car was up for £10400, I offered £10000 cash and pay the deposit straight away, the main dealer then said we have had that much interest they might put the price up and 2 hours later it had gone up by £500, I could of paid it but I thought that was really cheeky of them

Likewise, we're not technophobes; I deal with some pretty high-tech hardware daily at work and Mrs S runs rings round me when it comes to anything computer based, but cars need tactile controls. Yes, I know a lot of it can be voice activated, but I get tired of repeating myself umpteen times just to change the radio station.

Agreed!

I was the idiot that ordered a facelift Arteon Shooting Brake as a company car on a 5 year lease…having haptic controls on the steering wheel was downright dangerous…at least it’s climate control panel lit up at night as it wasn’t the version at the bottom of the screen, but it was still awful to use 🙄

I was looking at the Mazda CX80 and if I’m correct, I think it doesn’t even have a touchscreen, and they’ve gone back to an old BMW idrive style system, which was so easy to use!

I'm really struggling to find a newer car that I like.
Ditto, I was only going to keep my current 2019 Leon for 4/5 years, but due to my now lack of interest in the new cars, not sure I'll sell it for many years, unfortunately work wise it's been suggested I need a newer car so instead of changing I'll just buy something else, I'm looking towards the BMW 120/220..
