i have had an electrical fault with my front electric windows for sometime and each time i take it in to be repaired under warranty, the mechanics reset the sensors and the problem is solved for about a week and then it comes back.
my car was bought brand new in 05 and i shud not have this problem, although rumor is that electrical faults are common on mk4 ibizas.
Any1 gettin the same problemo[:@]

so what exactly is the fault, is it to do with them not working at all or the auto up/down or the remote up/down ??

a little info and we may be able to help

they work most times, but every now and again the windows go down themselves after i hav put them up, strange!
i have had the window sensors reset 4 times before and the windows are fine for a month or so and then the problem arises again

the windows have an auto reverse safety feature where as they should stop and go down if they detect too much resistance on the way up

this safety feature can be activated when the windows are fully open and at motorway speeds you close them, it is the wind/air pressure change that activates the auto reverse

also the feature can be activated by a bump in the road whilst you are closing them

if you have lowered suspension this will be more common

hope that helps a bit

I have heard of someone on here that had a fault where the windows would go down by themselfs when parked up in a car park but I have no idea what the fix was, maybe do a search

thanks a lot m8, ill take that into account
but no i dont hav lowered suspension although im gettin it very soon
the problem i was having was when i was stationary and there was no resistance at all and the windows were still goin back down, after they had fully shut!
