well....i haven't noted the wheels on the insurance

but yeh deffo getting the facelift or Cupra front bumper

I was looking at the milltek/cupra backbox like yours but can't find just the backbox without the whole system :( and its expensive
Lol I'm not really going to get into declaring mods, but its best to do it in my opinion.

Mines just a FR backbox, I bought it off someone on here who had upgraded his FR tdi exhaust to a Milltek. Always plenty on here who will be selling their standard system after upgrading, but there's no for sale/wanted section here :(

+1. I'm 18 so feel your pain with insurance, however if you have a crash you won't be covered, so your pretty much driving around without insurance.

I've got a 1.2tsi leon, declared alloys and window tints, they said my aftermatket stereo is included in standard cover. With 1 years no claims and the mods my insurance was £1250, which i don't think is too bad!

Oh and make sure you tell them about your front and rear bunpers, and well, anything you do! It may cost, i was charged £40 for wheels and £40 for window tints, but i know my policy is valid.. If you can't afford the insurance don't do the mods, simples :)

haha yeah, well i'm not going to take it to uni so i'll probs just SORN it as I don't really wanna sell it tbh. Theres not really much point in declaring the mods for now.

Does the exhaust not matter if it comes from a petrol or diesel engine??
Also how does it sound?

Yeah I'm 20 soon, and my insurance isn't too bad, but like I said to Jonny I don't think theres much point in declaring the mods while I'm at uni and the car won't be in use :p

Thats not bad at all for a turbo'd car! I was looking at the Mk5 Golf 1.4tsi GT 170, but they're just a bit too high on insurance atm :(

you're so right, its such a con! Sometimes people end up paying more for their insurance than they do for the actual car!

also, has anyone had trouble with folding in their wing mirrors? the driver's side folds in, but the other doesn't and i've attacked it with WD40 etc

Don't force it. I was told that both my mirrors should fold but only the passenger one does. After inspecting the drivers side I found there is no folding mechanism in there haha. Seat parts lottery :p

'Seat parts lottery' perfect way to describe it hahaha:lol:

These arrived the other day, direct from Demon-Tweeks!

K&N induction kit (cheapo one)

Brake calliper cleaner, paint and paintbrush in that E-tech box :D

Painted the front brake callipers

I thought i'd do them in RED because it worked well :)

I took the wheels off and gave the callipers two coats, I could always do more if I need to..

Thats what i've been up to recently. I think my next 'mods' will be pressed plates, cupra front bumper, HIDs, Lamin-x front 'S' grill.

Comments please:rolleyes:

I need to give the car a wash tomorrow and i'll take a quick trip to Halfords and have a look at some polish and wax.
