From an article in todays Motorsport News....MotorsTV won't be showing the BTCC or support races next year.

Alan Gow BTCC supremo, said on the BTCC forum:

"Whilst we appreciate the coverage MotorsTV have given, it should also be put into perspective; their coverage of the BTCC was viewed by about only 8% of the number of viewers that watch our ITV coverage."

Those small audience numbers that MotorsTV delivered are nearly impossible to justify, given the very significant costs involved in producing such coverage.

Broadcast arrangements (for all sports) change and develop all the time - nothing stays the same forever and this now also gives us the opportunity to explore other broadcast opportunities for the future, which we have not been able to do until now due to MotorsTV's exclusive digital-platform arrangement."

Hopefully we will get to see more on ITV then or some other free channel. People like me always used to miss out as we didn't have Motors TV.

ITV won't dedicate any more of the schedule to the rest of the package. So if you want to see Cupra Championship races like i do, then your relegated to 3am.

And they won't show every race live anymore like Motors did.

Again a shame. :(

ITV's coverage is at the most adequate but Motors TV was spot on, full race distance coverage, better managing of advert breaks and also plenty of repeats in case you missed a race. The 2 hour BTCC review was also good to watch at the end of the season.

There still might be an announcement that it could be on another digital channel. Full details of the TV packaged will probably be revealed in 3 weeks time at the Media Day.

can we start a petition to Alan Gow or something? Or put a horses head in his bed, get him to re consider?
