Has anyone noticed a difference between MPG achieved and the type of fuel used i.e 95 RON or 98 RON

The reason for the question is if there is a 4 MPG difference then the cost the higher octance can be up to 15 p more per litre and still work out cheaper over 100 miles

I thought I got a few extra miles out of a tank of Optimax, compared to standard stuff, although never scientifically tested it though. I did however find that the car ran much smoother using Optimax. I now always use Optimax, unless there is none available.
